building a monster recording pc

the new PC is built… well we might have to download a driver here or there, but she’s up & running & she is a beast!! so powerful & fast!!!! no more hey add a bit of reverb to that track… then wait 30seconds to see if that sounds better or worse. so now a new mic or 2, a new amp for dave & we’re ready for the real work to begin. also since we need to pay for all this stuff we will soon begin auctioning off provocative pictures of Larry Love (no frontal… for now we’re keeping it classy). anybody want to start the bidding??

blister gears up for recording!!

after a lot of debate & research… we got the allen & heath zed-r16. mostly cause the great sounding preamps!!! from now on all the noise on our recordings will be on purpose. special thanks to Mike @ guitarcenter raleigh for an incredible hookup… if i told you what we paid you wouldn’t believe it. now i just need to write a pop song to pay for some more upgrades.

our friend Marty captured some great video footage of the blister performance @ Scumfest ’11. hopefully we can clean the audio up & throw up some quick & dirty videos. if not i’ll be using that footage to make regular vidz… either way, stay tuned for the results.

Scumfest ’11 is over but…

Blister had a Rocking good time at Scumfest ’11. all the bands that played were great!!! If you were there we appreciate you coming out and supporting independent music. if you missed it you missed it, but hopefully Scumfest ’12 will be as good. Anyway hopefully we got some good video of the Blister set, if so we’ll be post some links soon!

it’s been a while…

i had gotten so good at updating the blister.tv web site and “most” of our social pages & then i just fell off the edge of the earth. Sorry, life can be relentless. I promise I’ll get back to it so here’s an update on all thing s blister. The best news is that Natasha’s health has been steadily improving!! In fact, we’ve had quite a few rehearsals & they’ve been great. Don’t know what it is about almost losing your favorite things in life that makes you appreciate them even more, but it does. Anyway that brings us to more good news – blister has been writing so many new songs that we decided its time to record again. And this time we’re not holding anything back we’re sparing no expense and updating every piece of equipment we can afford to update: software, pc, mixer, mics, amps, pre amps, control surface… everything. So we’ve been spending all of our time studying up on equipment, reading reviews & trying to figure out what we need. All we know for sure is that we’re upgrading to pro tools 9. if you know how to build the perfect studio from scratch… give us a shout out.
